It's been a few months since the Fairbuds were released and in that time, customers have been loving their new pocket-sized earbuds. Almost every major media outlet has left a positive review and are enthused by the modular design.

The Fairbuds are equipped with easily replaceable parts that earned them a perfect 10/10 score from iFixit, the first of their kind. Not only is repairability a breeze but there's a rich sound stage ready to perform on any occasion, as they're IP54 water resistant and have up to 20 hours of charge with the case.

Fairphone Fairbuds Reviews

“Practically all the best earbuds you can buy right now are disposable. If you face any hardware issues with the earbuds or the case, your only recourse is to get a replacement. Earbuds are practically impossible to repair, and the design and economic decisions made on them mean it is easier to throw broken ones out and buy new ones. Fairphone, known for its ethical take on smartphones, is now changing this perception by launching the seemingly impossible Fairbuds, earbuds that are repairable and meant to last.”

Tom's Guide

"Instead of being forced to get a replacement pair of even the best wireless earbuds when something goes sideways, the Fairbuds are actually repairable. This means these could be the last pair of earbuds you have to buy, which is quite a change of pace from every other major brand."

"While all the repairability and longevity are nice, you also want headphones that sound good. Fairphone included some solid specs that rival other high-end models. There are 11mm titanium-coated drivers, three microphones per earbud, active noise-cancellation, Bluetooth multipoint, Bluetooth 5.3, an IP54 rating, 5 hours of battery life with ANC on, up to 26 hours of battery life with the case, and an app for equalizing the sound."

Android Police

“Just because the Fairbuds have replaceable batteries doesn’t mean the brand skimped on other features — you get six mics for environmental noise cancellation during calls, ANC for listening sessions, dual-device pairing, and IP54 sweat and dust resistance, all backed by a three-year warranty (two years standard plus one year optional extra) in a market where one-year warranties are the norm.”

The Verge

“The new Fairbuds aren’t the first time Fairphone has dabbled in earbuds — but they’re far more repairable than its previous iteration. In 2021, Fairphone launched the Fairbuds True Wireless Stereo Earbuds, which were made with recycled plastic. However, you could only replace certain components of the Fairbuds TWS buds, not including the battery.”

Engadget

“Wireless earbuds are flimsy, easily lost and prone to battery failure. Given their size and cost, companies would rather you throw them out when they succumb to the inevitable. Fairphone, however, has built a pair of buds with easily replaceable batteries, as well as a swappable cell in the charging case. And, look, if the engineers working at this tiny Dutch company can work this out, then the army of designers in Apple and Samsung’s steel-and-glass cathedrals have no excuse.”

Guardian

"The Fairbuds prove that modern Bluetooth earbuds do not have to be disposable and that companies such as Apple, Bose, Sennheiser and Sony should be trying harder on this front. They look good, work and fit well, and have most of the modern conveniences of rivals. They have a decent easy listening sound and reasonable noise cancelling." 4 stars out of 5!
